Welcome to Colourful Country by Sophie ~ My little home of creative goodness!
A Little about me....
Born and raised in Country Vic, I've always had a creative spark and pull.
As a kid (yes, a literal kid) you would find me drawing up dream house plans, designing a pyjama label or forcing my pals to rehearse the dance steps to STOP by The Spice Girls in my bedroom on repeat!
Looking back.... It was probably pretty obvious that I had a deep desire to create, however life (as it does) tends to take hold, responsibilities kick in.... and before too long ~ You're working the 9 - 5 grind, ignoring your biggest dreams to pay bills.
However, I'm glad to report that 2026 brought opportunity my way.
Whilst trying to squeeze very minimal creative hours around work, motherhood and general life ~ I made a very bold decision!
And that's where, I threw in the towel, decided to Homeschool my daughter and follow my urge to create for 12 months.
I'm a big believer in 'figuring it all out later' and in 'the stars will always align'.
That's just what happened.
An impromptu studio space became available in our little hometown of Beechworth; I took myself seriously for once in my life and began to show up!
I am in the midst of enjoying my best life, creating a purposeful and colourful life.
You will find me, painting Original Abstract Artworks, Handmaking Jewellery, designing my next creative project or simply expressing my positive 'Life is tough, but so are you' life perspective.
With a love of colour and the emotional shift it can create both in home and for your personal aura, most things you will find in my world are here to make you feel happier, empowered and exactly right where you are meant to be.
Open to commission pieces, spontaneous collabs and surprising creative projects, please always feel free to reach out.
